Bored Ape Avatars Debut in Roblox’s New Kingship Islands Game
The iconic Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) non-fungible token (NFT) collection has found a new home in the metaverse of Roblox, thanks to the metaverse-based “supergroup” Kingship.
Kingship Islands, an interactive world featuring Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT avatars, has been launched on the popular gaming platform Roblox, as reported by Decrypt. In this game, players find themselves stranded on an island paradise and must unite the band members as part of a quest.
Players have the opportunity to earn avatars and in-game items during the first six weeks of the game after launch.
Kingship has also introduced animated avatar accessories that make use of Roblox's facial animation technology.These items, along with Kingship-themed emotes, can be purchased in the in-game shop and through the Roblox Marketplace.
Moreover, holders of the Kingship Key Card, an Ethereum NFT pass that provides special access to content and experiences related to the band, will receive exclusive Roblox badges and access to the Floating Villa. The Kingship band, built around three Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT avatars and one Mutant Ape,will feature music developed by Grammy-winning producers Hit-Boy and James Fauntleroy. Roblox players will have the opportunity to preview some of the music being created.
Yuga Labs, the creator of Bored Ape Yacht Club, grants commercialization rights to NFT holders, allowing them to use the artwork to develop and sell derivative projects and products.
